- POSCO Tech day held in three global car companies in Guangdong
POSCO is currently building the foundation for solution marketing by holding the POSCO Tech day in three global car companies located in Guangdong, China.
The POSCO Tech day was very well-received, with 1,352 people attending the event held at Gwangchi Toyota on January 30th and 1,050 people attending the Gwangchi Honda event. The event for Dongfeng Nissan will be held on February 6th.
This event means a lot to both Gwangchi Toyota and Gwangchi Honda, who had never previously held an in-house type event with an exclusive supplier.
The events including introducing POSCO along with EVI (Early Vendor Involvement) activities, the cases of solution marketing, localization strategies via Guangsdong Pohang Automotive Steel, TSC (Technical Service Center) and POSCO-CFPC, and world premium products and unique steel technologies, and efforts to develop demand for new steel with auto parts companies.
Above all, the events attracted captured client attention thanks to the composition of the contents with automotive structures. The event enabled clients who had experienced the solution marketing activities of POSCO to develop their interest in it, by sounding out the possibility of cooperative business with auto parts companies.
There was a technical seminar aimed at the engineers of each company and the staff in charge of the purchasing department that concentrated on Advanced High Strength Steels (AHSS), utilization techniques and performance evaluation, and stainless products for auto parts.
This event is expected to strengthen the future technical partnership in Guangdong area by raising the potential to identify workable solution demands and joint research for technical tasks.
In addition, it is estimated that the event has helped strengthen the network with global automotive clients and increase promotion effects. Constructing the foundation for solution marketing is one of the greatest outcomes of these technical events in China, the country that is growing fast as the world`s largest automobile market with considerable inbound investment by global companies.
POSCO will build on this event to actively pursue differentiated customer-contact care, the development of new steels and enhanced commercial support. In the second half of this year, POSCO will respond to customers` car body lightening needs and highly-developed product design power by holding a technical seminar for other global car companies in China with the local TSC as the center.
Meanwhile, POSCO was the first steel company invited to the technical exhibition for Malaysia`s PROTON held in September last year (PROTON is the only local automotive company in Southeast Asia). POSCO also announced that it is leading car body lightening with the development of new steel grade by participating in the developmental project of Renault`s EOLAB concept car at the Paris Motor Show 2014.
