Mexican Steel Flat Producers Conceding Discounts: Sources

Prices for Mexican domestic flat products remain officially stable, but local producers are giving some discounts, distributors and executives from local service centers said Monday.

The discounts are not fixed, but rather depend on each individual negotiation, sources said.

"The discounts have been applied to compete with the imported material," one source said.

Others sources echoed expectations that flat products prices could fall further in the coming months on fears of imports gaining market share.
