Customs: China Steel Imports and Exports in April 2015

Steel

According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs, China exported 8.54 million tonnes of steel in April 2015, an increase of 1 million tonnes or 13.3 percent year on year.

In April, the import was 1.20 million tonnes, down 7.7 percent year from the same month of 2014, or an increase of 10,000 tonnes from March this year.

Then net export of steel in April came to 7.34 million tonnes, an increase of 1.1 million tonnes or up 17.6 percent year on year, or an increment of 0.85 million tonnes over March.

The cumulative exports in the four months of 2015 totaled 34.31 million tonnes, up 32.7 percent; combined imports were 4.43 million tonnes, down 9.5 percent.

Then net export of four months was 29.88 million tonnes, up 42.5 percent.

Iron Ore

Iron ore import in April was 80.21 million tonnes, a drop of 3.18 million tonnes or down 3.8 percent. The average import price was 60.99 dollars per tonne (CIF, China, a drop of 6.04 dollars from March.

Coke

Coke export in April was 0.71 million tonnes, up 9.2 percent or up 60,000 tonnes on year, and an increase of 30,000 tonnes over March. Average export price was 173.86 dollars per tonne (FOB).
