Crude steel output by CIS countries dropped in Nov 2015

The crude steel output by the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) dropped slightly by nearly 1.7% during the month of November this year. Byelorussia, Kazakhstan, Russia and Uzbekistan reported decline in production during the month.
MOSCOW (Scrap Monster): According to the recent data published by the World Steel Association (World Steel), the crude steel production by Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) dropped marginally by 1.7% during the month of November year-on-year.
The total crude steel production by Byelorussia declined by 8.4% during November this year to 214,000 tonnes from 234,000 tonnes in November 2014. Kazakhstan produced 288,000 tonnes of crude steel, down by 4.8% when compared to 302,000 tonnes production achieved during November last year. Moldova recorded 44,000 tonnes steel output during the month, rising considerably by 120% over the previous year. The total crude steel production by Russia was down by 3.1% from 5.896 Million tonnes in November 2014 to 5.715 Million tonnes this November.
There was marked increase in Ukraine’s crude steel output in November. Ukraine’s total crude steel output was up by 3.1% to 1.884 Million tonnes in November 2015 when compared with the output of 1.828 Million tonnes during November last year. On the other hand, Uzbekistan’s crude steel output declined considerably by 9.1% during the month.
The following table provides cumulative crude steel output for the first eleven months in 2015 in comparison with those during same period in 2014.
